Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information Candidate Copilot collects, why, and the choices you have. We collect as little as we need to do the job you asked us to do, and we never sell or rent it.
What we collect
- Newsletter. If you subscribe to our newsletter, we store the email address you enter and the page you subscribed from. Subscription is double opt-in — we email you a confirmation link, and you are not added until you click it.
- Campaign Readiness Audit. The audit runs on the race details you type in (office, jurisdiction, election date, and any voter/turnout figures). If you choose to save your snapshot, we also store the email address you provide and the audit summary. If you do not save it, we do not keep it.
- Your account. If you start a campaign with us, we store your email, a securely hashed password (we never store your password in plain text), and the campaign information you provide to set up your war room.
What we do not collect
- We do not ingest, purchase, or custody voter files or voter contact lists.
- We do not handle your campaign's donations — that stays with your own committee's payment processor.
- Our newsletter is our own communication. It is never sent on behalf of a campaign and never contains voter-facing campaign content.
How we use your information
- To send you the newsletter you asked for, and any deadline reminders you consented to.
- To operate your account and the tools you use.
- To keep the service secure and to meet our legal obligations.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. Each campaign's data is kept isolated from every other campaign; we never share one campaign's information with another.
Service providers
We use a small number of vetted providers to run the service:
- Resend — delivers our transactional and newsletter emails.
- Cloudflare — hosts the application and stores its data.
These providers process data only to provide their service to us, under their own security and privacy commitments.
Your choices
- Unsubscribe anytime. Every email we send carries a one-click unsubscribe link. Unsubscribing stops all newsletter email to that address.
- Access or delete your data. Email us and we will help you see, correct, or delete the information we hold about you.
Security
Passwords are stored only as salted, iterated hashes (PBKDF2). Data is encrypted in transit. Sessions are protected by signed, expiring tokens.
